In entry-level positions, cashiers perform basic customer service duties.
Primary job responsibilities include operating cash registers and preparing orders.
Cashiers may also need to prepare food, depending on location.

Workers must adhere to strict health and safety guidelines at all times.
Basic computation, cash handling and multitasking skills may also prove beneficial during the hiring process.
Training generally lasts between a few days and involves both visual and verbal orientation.
