QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Business or related field OR
Master’s Degree with state certification in Educational Leadership
Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience preferably in a school leadership role
Must possess professional level or higher certification in Human Resources from The Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) or Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) or the ability to obtain certification within the first 18 months of employment.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendents and/or Superintendent SUPERVISES: Personnel Recruitment Coordinator, Risk Manager, Payroll Clerk, Insurance Clerk, HR Secretary, Receptionist JOB GOAL: The primary responsibility is to work as part of the district leadership team focused on the mission and goals of the district and to lead human resources and operations to support the mission.
The position is designed for the purposes of managing assigned operations in accordance with district policies; providing information to the Board, superintendent, staff and the public; ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures; and addressing a variety of administrative needs and processes PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.
Initiate and direct procedures and criteria for the efficient and effective selection recommendation of qualified personnel.
2.
Formulate and/or maintain procedures to achieve maximum results in recruiting, locating and interviewing qualified personnel to fill vacancies 3.
Initiate and review and/or direct procedures and criteria for the establishment of written job descriptions for new positions.
4.
Initiate and direct procedures and criteria for conducting an orientation program for any new personnel.
5.
Establish or review efficient and effective procedures for staff personnel to apply for vacancies and/or newly-created positions.
6.
Continuously establish and maintain efficient and effective procedures for the storage and retrieval of personnel records, with appropriate security measures, on all employed personnel and the accurate and rapid processing of all required credentials and licenses as measured by individual files.
7.
Continuously establish and maintain efficient and effective procedures and criteria for recruitment, interviewing, selection and employment of substitute teachers with the cooperation and assistance of staff personnel and school administrators and maintain accurate and current records.
8.
Initiate and direct procedures and criteria for the effective and efficient annual Performance evaluation of personnel in accordance with Board policy, regulations, Objectives and philosophy of the school corporation and maintain accurate and Functional files on each.
9.
Establish and maintain in cooperation with employee groups and in accordance with adopted agreements, efficient and effective procedures for the interviewing of all personnel complaints.
10.
Execute formal Board policy and regulations in the dismissal and/or termination of employees and maintain accurate records of same.
11.
Maintain a current list of non-tenured teachers and weekly submit observation reports on these teachers to the Superintendent.
12.
Scrutinize all observations made by principals and establish an in-service program for those teachers getting less than satisfactory ratings on teacher observation reports.
13.
Attend all regular and special meetings of the Board and when directed by the Superintendent, all special executive committee meetings to assist in the interpretation and dissemination of Board activities.
14.
Prepare on a timely basis and submit according to established deadlines, all required and requested local, state, regional, and national reports and forms.
15.
A committee of supervisors, administrators and principals will evaluate nontenured teachers annually to determine if teachers are to be tenured.
Teachers that are granted tenure in a school will have documented evidence by the principal that the teacher will remain at that school.
16.
Annually initiate and maintain an effective safety program for all employees of the system as evidenced by meetings held and records on file.
Work with Assistant Superintendent and principals in the transferring of personnel within the system.
17.
Continuously serve as chairperson of committee appointed by Federal Court to interview and make recommendations to the Superintendent for administrative appointments.
18.
Enter into an annual goals and objectives agreement with the Superintendent of St.
Landry Parish Schools.
19.
Continuously perform other such duties as assigned or requested by the Superintendent as evidenced by the accomplishment of such duties.

55 on the teacher salary schedule TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve (12) months ACCOUNTABILITY: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board's policy on Evaluation of Personnel.
