The Merchandising Analytics Manager plays a vital role in driving a company's merchandising success by using data and analytics to make informed decisions, optimize product offerings, improve pricing strategies, and maximize profitability.
This associate will develop and execute data analysis for a variety of purposes including, but not limited to, product performance, customer behavior, financial results, marketing strategies, and inventory management.
This role will manage and develop a team of planners to support business analytic needs of the merchandising team.
These positions are key to adapting to changing market conditions and customer preferences while ensuring efficient inventory management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform data mining with the purpose of creating reporting to support the merchandising teams.
Strong cross functional partnership with data, business analytics, and technical teams to gain a firm understanding of systems needed to create necessary reporting.
Gather and analyze data to propose inventory and product strategies for the product management teams.
Creates and manages the merchandising open to buy budget, ensuring non-performing products are exited as new products are added to the assortment.
With their team, this associate is responsible for providing merchants with a regular cadence of weekly, monthly, and yearly business reporting.
Partners with merchants on new product inventory planning as well as excess and surplus strategies
In conjunction with marketing initiatives, works with the merchandising and planning teams to ensure the proper inventory is available to support increased customer demand.
Works in partnership with cross-functional inventory & planning teams participating in monthly inventory reviews.
Responds to daily needs from product managers and merchandising teams providing ad hoc reporting on a regular basis.
Supports merchant teams in analyzing customer behavior related to custom experiences on stuller.
com and through Stuller's CAD/CAM department.
Coaching, training, and developing the merchant planning team to improve their skills and performance.
Routinely present recommendations and other analysis to merchants related to driving departmental and company goals.
Stay informed about industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive developments.
Share where applicable and inform key stakeholder to adapt merchandising strategies accordingly.
Analyze current pricing strategies, monitor competitors' pricing, and recommend pricing adjustments to maximize revenue and profitability.
Utilizing data software tools like MicroStrategy to manage and analyze data effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to analyze and interpret data to inform business decisions.
In depth ability to dig into data to recognize trends, detect outliers, and summarize data sets.
Ability to train and mentor team members
Advanced excel skills including ability to create pivot tables and utilize formulas.
Experience with Windows, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
Self-motivated person that is able to work with multiple personality types.
5+ years relevant work experience, undergraduate degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to make decisions and communicate effectively.
