The Admissions/PBX Director will supervise, monitor and make decisions regarding the day to day operation of the Admissions Department including pre-registration, benefit verification, pre-authorization, admission/registration, service pre-payment, and ER registrations for 2 campuses.
This includes staffing, public relations, productivity, communication, developing policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, and establishing priorities to ensure daily operations are maintained according to standard.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Communicate with staff and other associates in a friendly, professional manner.
* Works within a budget and assists in planning future year’s budget.
* Serves as a mentor and leader to staff by teaching, and modeling the values described in the OGHS“Service Standards”.
* Model AIDET guidelines in all interactions with the patient and ensure staff are adhering to the patient experience expectations
* Supervises, delegates, schedules and assigns work to achieve goals of department and organization.
* Effectively prepares and monitors indicators for quality improvement.
* Constructs reports, policies and procedures, and other documents.
* Manage problems presented by staff and patients.
* Supervises and manages E/R registration staff
* Ensure QA on registrations for all areas of Registration
* Provide continuous training for and communicates changes to existing employees
* Prepare payroll and completes monthly work schedules as needed to ensure adequate staffing levels
* Follow-up on patient complaints promptly.
* Plans and implements strategies and processes to maximize efficiency and meet objectives
* Sets annual goals for the department and monitors progress of goal achievement through the LEM
* Organizes the functions of the department and allocates use of available resources
* Staffs department appropriately according to productivity standards
* Recruits, hires, trains and develops staff
* Monitors staff performance including goal setting and performance reviews
* Establishes and maintain departmental controls
* Formulates and enforces department policies and practices
* Coordinates financial and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency
* Facilitates the preparation and analysis of reports
* Reviews various performance metrics (i.
e.
, financial, HCAHPS, employee engagement survey) to monitor and measure results, productivity & goal progress
* Responsible for the achievement of department productivity and quality goals
* Engages in and implements the Journey to Excellence tactics for the department
Education: Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
Experience: 5 years Admissions and or Business Office experience.
5 years supervisory experience.
