Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
Salary Range: $48,000 - $60,000 annually.

Prepare and post journal entries for assigned accounts.
Attach appropriate support for the journal entry and sign off on all journal entries when complete.
Accrue appropriate expenses for all assigned accounts.
Prepare monthly variance analysis on assigned accounts.
Communicate variances found to appropriate individuals.
Respond appropriately and timely on all financial statement questions.
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts for assigned accounts within the designated timeframe.
Maintain appropriate support for all balances.
Communicate effectively with other departments as well as outside vendors, consultants, etc.
Prepare monthly JV packets on assigned locations.
Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum of one year of accounting experience; healthcare experience preferred.
Must be highly skilled in use of Excel.
Must possess high attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
Must possess excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
Must possess good communication skills and be able to work within a collaborative team environment.
