Summary/Objective Maintains General Ledger with a primary focus on construction and Capital Assets; reviews and prepares financial reports; assists with auditing and budget processes and reconciles accounts.
This is a remote position.
Essential Functions Maintains General Ledger by reviewing and posting financial entries, reconciling general ledger accounts Sets up new vendors; requests all documentation needed to create new vendors in the system for processing and paying vendor invoices; enters invoices with proper approvals and GL codes; reconciles vendor statements and requests missing invoices; communicates with vendors and/or Mayroad employees to ensure all actions are completed in a timely manner Creates ACH and wire payments to vendors and issues checks for vendor invoices; creates stop payments on the bank website for checks that vendors have not received and issues replacement checks Runs daily bank reports for each company; enters and processes all ACH withdrawals, credits, and wire transactions that are listed on the bank reports; makes decisions on all ACH and/or checks positive pay exceptions daily; downloads bank statements for month’s end review Reconciles bank statements Performs intercompany fees entries for construction/owner accounts Maintains, monitors, and reconciles listing of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable for all construction projects; downloads and reviews AP/AR reports and all intercompany transactions; ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment Updates Schedule G report for all construction-related information Prepares Construction Loan/Draw packages; prepares documents required for loan funding Creates job cost reports and schedules in RealPage accounting system; sets up job cost schedules and budgeting Develops and maintains filing system for financial information, files, and records; ensures ready availability of financial documentation Maintains asset management schedules Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual documents and reports to provide to Accounting Director for use in corporate decision making Performs cash management duties for assigned area of responsibility Manages amortization and depreciation schedules Assists with software migration testing for construction when new systems and/or updates are integrated Performs other job-related duties as assigned Supervisor Responsibilities Provides direction to others Required Qualifications EDUCATION REQUIREMENT – Associates Degree or higher in an Accounting-related field preferred; may be offset by experience 3+ years of experience (or equivalent education) in Finance or Accounting Experience with construction and job costing preferred Experience with supporting financial audits preferred Experience with RealPage Accounting System or similar accounting software preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Refined math skills as applicable to accounting and finance; comfortable with math and calculations Refined math skills as applicable to accounting and finance; comfortable with math and calculations General knowledge and understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) Proficiency in accounting software, MS Office, intermediate-level knowledge of Excel Excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to communicate with fellow employees and customers; comfortable working and communicating with employees at all levels in geographically dispersed business operations Good decision-making skills Self-motivated with a strong sense of team environment Attention to detail Good analytical skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to multi-task; ability to prioritize multiple projects depending on the urgency of actions Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an at-home office setting.
